Getting to Malacca
Flights arrive at Malacca’s Batu Berendam airport, 10 km north of the city. Taxis bring you into town for RM30.
Malacca’s Express Bus station is slightly north of the city center, and taxis charge a standard rate of RM15 to bring you to any hotel within the city.
Malacca’s train station is actually at Tampin, 40 km northeast, where it meets the KL-Johor trunk line. Taxis charge RM60 to take you there from Malacca, but this can be bargained to RM50.
Getting around in Malacca
Malacca’s scenic zones are, with the exception of Villa Sentosa, all within 500 meters or so of Town Square. Walking is your best bet, but taxis and trishaws can get you just about anywhere.
Malacca’s taxis charge a standard RM 15 fare to go anywhere within city limits.
Trishaws may be hired as well for leisurely sightseeing, or can drop you anywhere. Fares are negotiable, but are generally RM20 for half-hour, and RM30 for one hour rides
